Zalma Bour has been flying under the radar for the past few months now, but, since we discovered her, three of her tracks have not left our minds. These songs, "Unstoppable", "Cleanslate", and "Lessons", form a body of work that feels familiar in a comforting way, yet, they provide innovation with their lyrics, production, and vocals as well, so are featured here. Calling Los Angeles her home, it's evident Bour found influence in artists from her hometown—from BANKS, for example. Despite the comparison, though, Zalma's artistry is her own. She roots herself in a deeply percussive world on "Cleanslate", wiping herself free of a relationship at its end, and, on "Lessons", she creates a harmonious wall of sound that, with the help of vocal synths and glittering electronic samples, captures us, also. The hit is "Unstoppable", however, a brooding R&B stunner. That was a whole lot to take in, we know, but, if you find the potential in her like we do, you'll want to gobble each up and hope that she has more in store. This is a great trio of tracks from her, and, if she comes out with anything more like them, she'll be more of a household name, for sure. Listen below.
