Zak Abel has gotten off to quite a swift start this new year, particularly due to a scintillating Gorgon City collaboration late last year and a couple of alluring solo efforts. Today, however, we’re highlighting the prowess of London-based producer Joe Hertz, who’s gone on to inject a lot of buoyancy into Abel’s month-old piece, “Wise Enough”. Hertz has been freewheeling through genres in his last couple of pieces which is always encouraging, and he again displays his adjusting style in gorgeous fashion here. The vocal front on the remix is allowed to run its course, as Joe focuses on the sonic inclusions, with gentle chord progressions followed by bursts of saw-laced drops and break-filled drums. Hertz is no doubt set for an uptake in attention as he delves into the forward-thinking music sphere, and we’ll be keeping a watchful eye and ear out for any future efforts to come on the back of this excellent take.
