With an especially dynamic remix of Cashmere Cat's "Rice Rain" behind him, it's obvious that Zach Witness takes his sound seriously. He's only three tracks to his name, sure, but the amount of thought put into each is something pretty uncommon for someone so (seemingly) inexperienced with his craft. His latest, "Amen Love", expounds on this fact, as the track's fanciful leadoff synths do all they need to to reel your admiration in. Zach's made sure to include a bevy of elements in the effort, ensuring our sustained attention, and the likes of chimelike keys, pitch-shifted vocal loops, and bustling percussion throughout do more than enough to keep us entertained. "Amen Love" has the scent of one Cashmere Cat working its way through its sonic DNA, undoubtedly, but not so much so that Zach's authenticity is compromised in the process. There are distinct layers to "Amen Love", unique segments of sound all his own (as all serious producers ought to have), and bigger, brighter things seem sitting on the horizon so long as Zach's artistic lane is further explored.
