Yujen released their first single about six months ago, and while it was a resounding success, they've been radio-silent ever since. We've all been left to wonder what exactly they've been cooking up in the interim, and, as it turns out, they were finishing up this EP. So, despite the protracted wait, the music on the six-track project will definitely satisfy any cravings you might have had for more of Yujen's signature blend of ambient electronic well into the foreseeable future. The first two tracks on the body will absolutely blow you away, and the next four will make sure you stay glued to the speakers right up until the last note dies down. There is a distinct sense of melancholy that finds its way into the overall theme on the EP, but you never get the feeling they overdid it, and the finessed production work ensures the listening experience is effortless despite the slower pacing and cold textures. It's not often a group can string six consecutive tracks together with such success, but these guys have done it, and by the time you get to their interlude, "Ultramarine", there's no longer any doubt that Yujen are in it to win. Since No Aware isn't album-lengthed, its entire runtime is less than twenty minutes. That being the case, the opportunity cost for just sitting down and absorbing it all with one bite is relatively low; but if you absolutely must cherry pick, then don't miss Chet Faker's feature on "Try It Over" or the quiet beauty of "Enough By Now". Each "experience" is a fantastic one to immerse yourself into, and if you've the chance to, allow them to pave your way to the rest of the EP's terrific contents.
