With Youngblood Hawke rising to prominence on the backs of massive, even anthemic, tracks like “We Come Running” and “Forever,” it’s refreshing to hear Penguins Prision’s more intimate rendition of another big YBH original, “Stars.” Trading in the original’s copious amounts of echo and reverb for a simple but effective bass line (and pretty much nothing else), the remix feels like it would be better suited for a quiet lounge, than a packed out stadium. The track is beautifully simple, and really does a good job paying homage to the original mix, by forging into fresh sonic territory, and not just trying to ape what made the original so fun to listen to.
