Arriving with "Guide Me Through" last year, and more recently with "Someone's Touch", Brooklyn-based trio Young Heel has quietly been releasing some of the most creative and poignant music we've had the pleasure of listening to over the past few months. There are a lot of bands vying for your attention within the electronically led, R&B-tinged, and experimentally tempered genre, and some of them are on that one-and-done level, but with Young Heel and their impressive sophomore EP, Tuff, we find their sound to be not only engaging and alluring, but easily worth more that just a few spins. With silky vocals, brooding electronic, and progressive songwriting, the four tracks that are showcased here will be more than enough for you to get on board with these talented artists.
