Melbourne artist Yeo has been releasing music consistently since 2006, yet only started gaining the traction he deserved after the release of last year's sleeper hit "Girl,". Our curiosity was initially piqued by the perfect fusion of dreamy fuzz and lo-fi vocals, and after immediately backing the single up with the blistering pop stylings of "KOBE", we knew Yeo was the real deal. Demonstrating his industrious nature, Yeo spent most of 2014 on the road. With drummer Andrew Congues and his trusty keytar in tow, he embarked on a number of Australian tours as a headliner as well as supporting the likes of Peking Duk and LDRU. They also found themselves in North America earlier this year as they played during the Canadian Music Week in Toronto. We were lucky enough to be in attendance, and we heard first-hand just how incredible his new music was. Now, we're thrilled to finally be able to share it with you now in the form of his Come Find Me EP. The EP opens with "Move It Or Lose It", which is one of Yeo's most accessible songs to date. Although there isn't anything inherently technical with the vocal direction, you can't help but smile as Yeo's fingers dance playfully across the keys of his synthesizer, crafting a spirited pop number that acts as a fitting introduction to the body of work. The EP also features the aforementioned singles "KOBE" and "Girl,", and is rounded out with the rousing track "Always Open". It's sometimes difficult to harness the live energy of a song when it comes time to record, yet, we speak from experience when we say that Yeo has done an admirable job capturing the same kinetic spirit with "Always Open" that appeared in his impressive live set. Come Find Me is a truly impressive release and is a testament to what can be accomplished by a young man with a dream, bold talent and a shiny red keytar. We'll be looking out for more Yeo material as a result of his efforts here, and we advise you all to be equally anticipatory as he progresses onwards in his career.
