We first familiarized ourselves with the singer of Parachute Youth's solo project, Yeah Boy, over a year ago, and ever since his impressive debut EP , our anticipation for more work from him has only escalated over time. Today, he finally returns with his sophomore body of work, Wildfire, and, while you'd expect Johnny Castro (Yeah Boy) to pick up where he left off one year ago, he's actually taken a slightly different approach to this particular EP, injecting a warmer, more poignant tone into his sound as a whole. The cuts we've picked out from the body of work are "Looking For Sunshine" and "Wildfire", and they exemplify the aforementioned description, as slow cadences and atmospheric synths dominate the backdrops within. The Aussie's vocals are his effortless strength, no question, and to hear him deliver them with the production behind is something we could get used to coming across again and again. Wildfire as a whole is a project that's launched a varied sonic face for Yeah Boy, but expect the Adelaide resident to stir just as much or even more noise than his previous work in the times ahead.
