The first two songs from Berlin-via-Australia artist YATES had the up-and-comer centering his sound in guitar-infused pop, and though we enjoyed greatly that sonic route, we're equally welcoming the more pop-oriented approach he's taken on “VIRTUE”, his third-ever and just-released track. At its onset, we’ve a continuation of previous efforts from YATES with a simple guitar chord and vocal combination, but as it emerges, the track throws in a number of electronic notes that spin the track into an exciting new direction. We’re left to applaud the great progression from start to finish in YATES' track, and now having gone three-for-three from the start of his artistic career, we'd be remiss to say that big things aren't in store for him ahead.
