XYLØ is one of those acts that managed to not only unveil a debut track to way more fanfare than most other startup bands could ever hope for, but they also stayed dominant as the song matured. Now, with their follow-up single,"Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea", the Los Angeles-based duo is ready to continue their success with another stunning effort. All things considered,"Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" has a lot to live up to, but interestingly enough, it seems as if XYLØ has decided to sidestep that hurdle all together. What might surprise you is that this new track is much more subdued and intimate compared to "America", and while you'll definitely still enjoy it if you're a fan of the duo, it feels like there's an album worth of music that separates these two songs. This may turn out to be a winning strategy for them, and it's clear that they're playing the long game here by showcasing their range. "Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" is a nice addition to their catalog, no matter what, and it will certainly do a nice job of filling out their first full-length work.
