It's nice to use an egg plant shaped into a human face for your EP cover art, but if the music can't become the greatest attention-grabbing thing, what's the point? Thankfully, in the case of Moscows' indie-pop duo, Xuman, their music proves to be much more than a quirky album cover (it's what piece of theirs first caught our attention). With our favorite track from it, "Lazy Cage", we see that their music is really the most impressive part of the project. With a sound that instantly reminds us of M83 (especially on "Lady Cage" versus their other songs), we find the pair at their best as their sound reaches considerable heights with the incorporation of sprightly synths and swooping vocals. The M83 comparison kicks in alongside the synth melody during the chorus, and later with the vocal breakdown just after the two-minute mark, so be sure to pay special attention to those parts.
