"Ilajaly" is the lead track from Cologne three-piece Xul Zolar's upcoming debut EP, and it's as refreshing and funky-sounding as the act's own name. On top of that, it's a delightful and ear-grabbing slice of electro-pop, and the boisterous, maximal style employed by the three bleeds necessarily through to the forefront of the track. Leaning on an acrobatic bassline and a tropical-sounding drum groove (stick around to the very end of the track to here it all alone), Xul Zolar has crafted an extremely strong track, and we've no doubts it'll serve as the perfect introduction to the act's sound. It's unique enough to remember, but not avant-garde enough to alienate anyone, either, and we think it'll catch on with audiences as a result. Look for the aforementioned EP to arrive early next year.
