XO exposes the soft and groovy side of electro-pop in "Through The Night," a forerunner from his upcoming EP, and we've taken a thorough liking to its synth-concentrated sounds that'd bring out the dancers in any gathering. We've recently been raving about the works of a similar-sounding artist, Jafunk, and especially with his "Why Would You" gracing us with similarly hip beats, and now with a parallel act here, we've the option to listen to something even more laid-back. What starts as a piano and clap beat swiftly evolves into an eclectic full-bodied effort with distorted synths sitting atop a lower-pitched undertone and effortless-sounding vocals from featured artist RobLaw. As mentioned, it's the way that this track flows so well that keeps our attentiveness, and masterful production of catchy tunes seems to be no new task to XO. His past work is inclusive of quicker and more lively pieces like "What's Luv", as well as more tranquil selections as seen in "Holdin' On", but "Through The Night" is the sweet medium we've been pining for. XO is an artist who already has an accomplished resume, and with his newest successful addition here, our excitement is burgeoning in anticipation of his next EP.
