The wonderful music that Xavier Rudd makes has just been given a stir with a new album collaboration with Izintiba slated to drop April 19th. Izintiba are 2 South African musicians, Tio Moloantoa (Bass) and Andile Nqubezelo (Drums/Percussion). The 2 South Africans add a nice touch to Xavier's style with fresh bass lines and dynamic drumming that gives another dimension to Xav's already hypnotizing music. Koonyum Sun sends the mind to a place of no stress and peace for an escape into daydreams of easy living in a hammock on the beach. The lead single 'Time To Smile' is the best possible song to get you into the type of mood for the rest of the album with its upbeat overtones of optimism for sunshine complimented by the vocal harmonies of Tio and Andile. Another standout for me is 'Sky To Ground' with its lovely chorus section of Xavier singing his heart out and Izintiba once again adding the vocals that adds such a great vibe.
