The story of Xander Singh is a story of redemption. He was the keyboardist for Passion Pit until after two years into touring when the reality of a dependence on alcohol, a neck injury that would require surgery, and a serious breakup would threaten his livelihood. He quit the band to regain control of his life and to deal with emotions of starting over, and he also started experimenting again with sounds, making what would become his debut solo album. "As Long As You're Loved" is the closing track from Singh's body of work, and it is a sensitive, electronic-laced R&B track that can make you feel and dance in equal measure. It's a breath of fresh air to hear, but it's also a stark (and important) reminder that, even if you find yourself in the dumps, you can come back and make something absolutely great. Muffin, Xander Singh's aforementioned debut album, will be out December 16.
