The forest of new electro-pop is extensively dense, which makes it essentially unnavigable by most. Here at HD, though, we're fully committed to inspecting every leaf and vine in the mass and bringing you only the best, so you can definitely trust us when we say that X priest X is one of the best new acts within the aforementioned genre. They snagged our attention with their first two singles, "Isn't It So" and "Sophie K", and now they've followed up with two more exemplary tracks on their debut EP, Samurai. The Floridian duo maintains a consistently fresh, polished, and pristine vibe throughout the body of work, mostly through brilliant use of electronic percussion and smooth synths. "Enemy Mind" stood out to us because of its irrefutably addictive chorus (a product of the sweet vocals from Madeline Priest). That being said, production from the other half of the duo, David Kazyk, is totally spotless, as expected. "Samurai" embraces a slightly different feel, and though it still makes use of their essential components, the somewhat intense style on the track remains unique on the project.
