William De Vaughn’s ‘Be Thankful For What You Got’ is a classic. Normally it’s a good idea to stay away from remixing the big ones unless you really know what you’re doing. The original song is so iconic, and it’s almost certain that people will have a deep connection with the sounds they are so familiar with. Mess that up, and your credibility as an artist goes out the window. Fortunately for all, French Kiwi Juice knows how to remix a song. He’s gone through the track with great care, and made sure that he didn’t touch what didn’t need to be tampered with, only injecting his particular brand of funk where it would not crowd out the wizardry of the original.
