Indie-pop trio Wildcat! Wildcat!’s second offering from their upcoming freshman album continues the band’s trend of well-flowing sounds that seem to bring a sanguine mood to our minds. Though the band has previously offered a small number of tracks for our listening pleasure, they find themselves touring around the nation with a number of sold-out shows on the horizon. Such occurrences speak heaps to the band’s off-the-beaten-path style that's been able to grab the attention of listeners (us included) within seconds. Their track here highlighted, “Hero”, introduces us to a mildly MGMT-esque sound that combines multiple elements into a final product that is indeed impressive. Lyrically sound vocals spearhead an electronic synth and a percussion-driven beat that keeps the song in line, and the talents of Jesse Taylor, Michael Wilson, and Jesse Carmichael is easily enough recognized as the song unwinds. If Wildcat! Wildcat! continues their trend of stellar songs and live performances (which should certainly be expected from the three), expect to see them appear much more here on HD in the future.
