In the world of remixing, the weirder you take the original the better. Since nobody really needs to hear a slightly different version of the original, the farther you take it away from the original, the better. As we see on Go Dugong's remix of White Blush's "Jolene", the original is shrouded in a mystic haze of percussion dumped in cacophony with an added dash of pitch shifted vocals and discombobulated synth arrangements. If Go Dugong was going for weird, I'd say he did a great job because this remix is fantastic.
