I've no reason to remain awake at 4 AM on a weekday, and yet here I am, diving headfirst into another incredible remix of Wave Racer's "Rock U Tonite" single which has seen our pages twice within the past week. Kit Pop was the culprit of the first and former effort, a vivacious reinterpretation which you can listen to here, and LA producer CRNKN is the next to knock the track out of the ballpark, albeit, in his own way. Whereas Kit Pop elected for a more bubbly take on the original, CRNKN decided to bust to pieces what formerly existed, retaining enough melody to pass as identifiable, while injecting bottomless bass, aggressively tuned percussion, and treacherous amounts of squealing synths to make explode the track. I almost don't want to advise listening to this track at this hour (if you live in the United States, at least), because if you're intent on listening to it as it ought to be listened to (very loudly), you're gonna be waking up the neighbors. I'll go on record saying that it's a risk worth taking, though, because the effort is just too intense to sleep on, both literally and figuratively. Who cares about the neighbors, anyway?
