Today, we have a very exciting new band to share with you in the form of Waterstrider. The group is led by frontman and producer Nate Salman, and if you've been keeping on top of your HD game over the past couple of months, you might remember his solo effort, "Be Alright", or his vocal contribution to Les Sins' single, "Why". Last year, Waterstrider released two songs that gained some decent attention, but today, the Oakland five-piece is back with "White Light", a crisp, bright single off an upcoming album of theirs. Fully take in the song's fluttering guitar plucks and acoustic percussion—both of which form an optimistic instrumental for Salman's gorgeous falsetto to coast atop. Waterstrider's music is influenced by and aims to convey the beauty of nature, and because the band prefers parks, lakes, and redwoods over big city life, their Oakland location makes a whole lot of sense. "White Light" will be officially released alongside another single on January 29.
