One factor that often gets swept unknowingly under the rug in music is the charm that it can have, and latest single ”Smiley Faces” from Swedish pop duo Vulkano is a great example of it. Unlike radio-ready pop contemporaries like Tove Lo, LÉON, and Icona Pop, their sound is not one that you could easily envision entering into the medium, but, as we mentioned above, it's not pop accessibility that makes "Smiley Faces" so attractive, but the simple and subtle charisma to it all. Sometimes that's all we find we need from a track, and, here, it certainly provides appeal from beginning to end.
