VNITI

Orange

It's not often we come across acts and artists we've never before heard. Most nowadays present their information upfront so that we bloggers and music fans don't have to wonder about them—making silly pronominal errors and location snafus in the process—and plus, it's just bad practice to keep yourself hidden in anonymity. (All of what you just read is a joke.) To be completely serious, the inverse of all that above is pretty true these days, and that's actually an amazing thing to consider. Music is about its own manifestation, not necessarily its creators' own, and it's oddly refreshing to be graced only with sounds and not sights in the musical arts. Save that other stuff for the painters, right (amazing cover art is another story)? Well, regardless our feelings about this all, we're liking what we're hearing from Phoenix's VNITI. His EP, the equally ambiguously titled, IO, conveys a relaxedly artistic sound with a modernized alternative twist (that's vague, yes, but the elements of his craft are eccentric), and through what efforts of his we've highlighted below, we think you'll find yourself taking quite readily to his unconventional sonic affairs. Stream and download the rest of IO on Bandcamp.
