The Regulators have been extremely busy of late, releasing remixes and musical combinations for fun over the past month. Days before this remix of "All I Really Need" by Vindata, they posted insight into the work, saying that they'd be taking their next release "180 degrees in the opposite direction from [their] last one". That opposite direction is branching them into a new sound, and, as we see with their effort here, an especially delightful one. Trap music lends itself to many different moods, but rarely do you find it with such a deep summer vibe. The sounds of birds whistling opens the track here, and the smooth vocals of Kenzie May ensue alongside slow-rising synths, all painting a bright sonic picture whilst the drum kicks on. You feel the slow build, the anticipation sets in, and the crescendo slams through, bouncing, and then giving you time to catch yourself before throwing you back around with the second drop. The song epitomizes the idea of a summer festival anthem, and if this is indeed the "opposite direction" that the Regulators are taking, we'll wait eagerly for their next musical step.
