As far as creative, stream-of-consciousness raps go, Chicago's SAVE MONEY crew is holding it down in that corner of the game right now, and few other rappers are in their rear-view. Of course, you can say those accolades come from Chance The Rapper mainly, but as we heard on INNANETAPE, and now again on "Suitcase", Vic Mensa ain't too far behind Chance in that regard. On 'Suitcase", we find the abstract storytelling raps of Chance and Vic swerving through off-kilter & skittering production, eliciting visualizations in your head that make no sense at all. Much like Chance's Acip Rap material, "Suitcase" is another one of those tracks that comes with an instruction manual encouraging the use of psychedelic enhancers. Of course, if you're not down with those kinds of things, you can get by without them, and let the music concoct its own poignant imagery.
