We've already sung VÉRITÉ's praises here a couple of times on HD, so gushing any more about her music might be tantamount to beating a dead horse, but bear with us as we get excited about her latest release, because this girl has gone from 0 to 100 in the last couple of months, and her new material is absolutely killer. Sure, there have been a few new names competing for supremacy in the world of alternative pop recently, and although blossoming acts like Ryn Weaver and Betty Who have been getting a lot of the press, VÉRITÉ has held her own with only one song. In fact, with "Weekend" being such a strong offering, we wouldn't be surprised if she pulls ahead of the pack as 2014 comes to a close. In any event, "Weekend" is everything that was awesome about VÉRITÉ's first song, though, this one has a lot more grit to it, and the edges are a bit rougher. Now, we don't mean that in the sense that it was made poorly; in fact, the opposite is quite true, but there surely is a rawer tint to "Weekend" that wasn't in "Strange Enough". If you were at all questioning the energetic dynamic of the rising star, therefore, suffice it to say that you won't be anymore. VÉRITÉ has made all the right moves in the lead-up to this authentic and triumphant-sounding release of hers, so the roll-out should go smoothly and successfully.
