VÉRITÉ is going to really have to go off the deep end with her sound before we stop loving what she's putting out. This latest single is a bit of a departure from the sound on her previous EP, but it's a fantastic one nevertheless. It's in no way going to alienate the fan club she built up with her older songs, but it's a heck of a lot more crunchy, and the added edge is a welcome change of pace to brand the New York songstress. Her silky voice is the perfect compliment to the broken synth lines, and the rolling beat ties up everything in a nice experimental-pop bow so that the listening experience is both effortless and engaging. VÉRITÉ has got a host of high-profile live appearances coming up, and if you find yourself in SXSW's neck of the woods come March, then make sure to stop by events at the Spotify House where you can see her perform alongside some of Music's best emerging talent. Who knows if she'll reveal more of what she's been working on, but either way, enjoy "Wasteland" until other excellent works of hers come about.
