VÉRITÉ's "Heartbeat" has been out for a couple of months now, and we can't for the life of us figure out why we haven't caught wind of it until now. It does everything you want it to, and it's going to be huge once people realize what they've been missing out on. The opening of the track has a nice bare-bones beat to it, and the production work is crisp and clean. Then, just when you thought you were in for something mellow, VÉRITÉ opens up with a series of increasingly epic choruses, taking what was already a good song, and making it great. It's probably a little premature to start making comparisons with other big names, and we'll need to hear a couple more releases to get a better idea of what VÉRITÉ's sound is really like, but this track makes great use of some fantastic influences, and serves as an impressive start. It's the absence of any unnecessary fluff that really sets it apart from your average attempt at an anthemic track, and the skill with which she laces the vocals into the rest of the song is just masterful. If she continues along this path, it's not out of the question to assume her music will be able to connect with fans in much the same way that Tove Lo's or Laura Welsh's does. We definitely have our fingers crossed for more as a result, and we'll be making sure we don't miss any of her stuff that's yet to come.
