Those of you who have been following our extensive year-end coverage over the past few weeks may have noticed that we named VÉRITÉ as our #1 artist to watch in 2015. Judging from the feedback we received on social media, too, it seems that a lot of you out there agree with our decision, but why wait until next year for more material of hers when you can have some right now? Well, ask and you shall receive, as we have the premiere of NICITA’s rework of “Echo” from VÉRITÉ’s upcoming remix EP. When's he not at his day job as the drummer for indie-electro duo MS MR, NICITA has been moonlighting as an accomplished producer who has taken the time to craft intriguing remixes for the likes of Bon Iver, Bombay Bicycle Club, alt-J, and even a couple times remixing MS MR’s singles “Fantasy” and “Ash Tree Lane”. It's obvious he's an eye and ear for emerging talent, and now NICITA has turned his focus to fellow New York artist VÉRITÉ for his latest sonic revising. The beauty of the original track, “Echo”, is in its simplicity. The majority of the track features nothing more than a confluence of spacial percussion elements and VÉRITÉ’s gorgeous vocal harmonies, and NICITA has capitalized on this perfectly as his driving synthesized arrangements envelop the interstitial voids.
