Edmonton-based vocalist Vera has lent her unaffected, crystalline vocals to a cover of The xx's "Shelter", and the results are absolutely spellbinding. Vera's impressive voice matches the subdued nature of the track perfectly, truthfully, but it's actually the track's instrumental that moves it from good to great. We say that because none other than Tennyson's unmistakable synths are added to the effort, and the incredibly well-crafted textures arises as a result perfectly compliment the simplicity of Vera's voice. There's no doubt that "Shelter", on the back of everyone's efforts, is a big step in the right direction for both, and we'd be remiss to say that we're not looking forward to whatever either of them has for us in the future.
