We haven't seen many bootleg remixes of Vaults floating around the internet (yet), and we can only assume it's because the majority of producers out there don't want to touch something that already works so well. Vaults' latest single, "Lifespan", is definitely one of those tracks where you really can't mess with it, but not hearing that at all is the Romanian-born producer ViLLAGE who attacks the track with the kind of creative force that makes you stand back in awe at what he was able to accomplish. The original is still very much hidden within the fabric of the remix, mind you, but with the producer's employment of heavy bass, rapid-fire percussion, vocal chops, and gritty electronic additions, there's a sense of discovery here. Look elsewhere if you're expecting just another remix that's barely worth a listen, therefore, because ViLLAGE here has delivered immensely. “Lifespan” will be released through iTunes on September 1st.
