Get excited, people. Vallis Alps, a brand-new pop duo consisting of Parissa Tosif (vocals) from Canberra, Australia, and David Ansari (producer) from Seattle, Washington, is here with one of the better-sounding debut EPs we'll probably hear all year long. Their self-titled work has not been serviced by PR, nor has it been sent out from management; it just showed up because of its greatness, apparently, and we suspect that once everyone gets their ears on it today, the duo is going to explode seeing as their four-track EP is nothing short of incredible from start to finish. Sonically speaking, the body of work is the quintessential listen for any fan of music laced with emotion. The bulk of their efforts are somber-leaning (they're led by pianos, downtempo melodies, and acoustic guitar), but if you listen carefully, too, you'll find occasional excursions into Flume-like soundscapes (especially on "Thru"), that, along with the absolutely gorgeous vocals of Parissa's, makes for the kind of music that just takes your breath away. Needless to say, you're going to want to get involved with the efforts inside the work, so do that below, and good luck listening to anything else for the rest of the month.
