Its been 2 years since Urthboy's ground breaking album, The Signal, from 2007. The album blew me away with its originality and shot Urthboy on to playlists across the world. Back again for the end of our summer is the brand new album that features production from Countbounce, Elgusto and Hermitude. Spitshine also enlists the beautiful voice of Jane Tyrrell from The Herd, Mark Pearl, Lior, Nat Dunn and Solo. Spitshine will take some time to absorb before you can find words to describe it. Much like The Signal, the production is immaculate and simmers you up for Urthboy to toss you on the barbeque and cook up some musical goodness. Good raps and catchy hooks are pretty much common throughout. The massive snare on Shruggin' is infectious especially when that synth comes in, and gets even more perfect with the lovely vocals of Jane. Then we get 'Above The Canopy' that sees Urthboy bustin his raps over a dark acoustic guitar assisted track that builds up for a sick chorus. I could go on and on about each track but I highly recommend you figure out your own adjectives. This album will hit stores and digital outlets Aug 28th across Australia!
