If you're anything like us, then you know how it feels to be immersed in a song so addictive that you just don't want it to end. Well, it seems that Hugo Manuel (Chad Valley) knows how this feels, also, so he decided to create a couple of tunes that, because of their length, are totally absorbable. Turks & Caicos is Manuel's side project, and we're definitely digging the mellow vibes conveyed through his artistic alter-ego. "Cars Outside" flows steadily with soft synths and Manuel's gently echoed vocals, creating a fairly dreamy feel. On a slightly different note, the almost ten-minute-long track, "Nice 'n' Slow", has a bit more ebb and flow resulting from his brilliantly used, authentic-sounding percussion and his wavy synths. And with our final highlighted track, "Shadows and Light", he hits a tropical sound that would be perfect to cool off with on any hot day. Turks & Caicos comes to represent a diverse work as a result of the efforts within, and it stands worthy as a sonic exploration you ought to experience.
