Tom Misch always seems to be working with different people, but when he and Carmody collaborate, they emit a certain authenticity that's greatly lacking in today's music. It almost sounds as if they're just hanging out, making music, and simply having a load of fun doing it, and this sincerity is something that you just don't hear an abundance anymore. The duo doesn't try to complicate their songs with overly elaborate instrumentals; instead, they usually keep it fairly basic, sticking to a range of guitars, keyboards, and Tom's always excellent percussion to convey their musical points. However, they also tend to implement some smooth electronic elements into their work, putting a modern twist on their sound, and it makes for one that's both accessible and amiable all the same. The two continue their streak of extraordinarily euphonic tracks today with "Atmosphere", a dreamy piece that fully stays true to their beloved style. As usual, our favorite aspect of the song has to be the unparalleled vocal harmonies, which we're sure we'll never grow tired of hearing. We hope that Tom Misch and Carmody continue releasing material together, because when we start listening to them, we can't help but desire to hear more.
