Over half a year ago, Tincture enthralled us with his beautifully sunken, steadily piercing brand of electronic found on “Trepanning" and "Similar Circles". This time around, he's decided to take on the highly illustrious three-year gem by Frank Ocean entitled “Swim Good”, and while many might be incredulous at the site of an Ocean Cover, know that the Australian's distinctly resonating vocals and unorthodox production prowess gives the piece an incredible identity all its own. Employing sounds that engender a sense of perturbing captivity seem to be quite consistent in the Brisbane resident’s efforts to date, with this rendition encapsulating those evolving, palpitating chord progressions that we so expected. The vocals are undeniably the focal point on the piece with Tincture harnessing the metamorphosing backdrop and portraying his ability as a vocalist, and alongside disembodied, pitch-shifted cuts, the cover wholly exhibits his character as well. The percussion and drums can be a lengthy talking point, too, as bass-heavy stabs ride and escalate alongside hat-heavy sequences, but all in all, its the aforementioned vocal brilliance we're most in love with, and we think you'll enjoy it yourself.
