Tincture's "Smaller Circles" unfolds with a relatively unassuming intro, and by about a minute in, you're still unsure where it's going, but when the beat finally does make an entrance, trepidation will most likely be replaced with a big grin as the eerie layers wind around each other in a room-filling melody. It's not the biggest track ever, and it's definitely not the hardest hitting, but the balance Tincture achieves means every note is maximized to its fullest potential, and where sounds would normally get lost in other songs with heavier bass and bigger kicks, they're free here to roam at will and breathe just a bit freer. Some of the vocal samples are heavily filtered, and the extra echo they're imparted with makes "Similar Circles" feel even more beautifully hollow, adding the perfect finishing touches to an already strong single.
