Kyross has been making his own buzz over the past several weeks, releasing tantalizing instrumental after tantalizing instrumental without assistance from a label or artist collective, and his admirable dedication to his craft has left quite the impression of the young producer. The fact that he's been operating out of his bedroom matters little, too, because the sound coming out has often eclipsed what most refer to as massive. The latest evidence of the trend is his remix of Tin Gardens' "Coal Lungs" which released recently alongside a remix EP that Kyross' effort did not appear on, but the 16-year-old has taken to epic drums and dreamy chords to offer his own banging interpretation of the already phenomenal original track. What might be more incredible than the scope of the sound, though, is the dynamic tempo that Kyross employs as the effort unwinds; through the first part of the instrumental, you're tempted to assume the rhythm will play out for the entire duration, but that's not the case. Kyross has always been one to add depth to his works, and the slowed-but-powered second-half of the effort makes fools of those tricked into predicting monotony.
