We've talked before about the many artistic talents of Jack Vanzet, and especially as "Thrupence" (the Melbourne native's musical moniker), he's crafted a quality sound as creative as it is fine-tuned. We're not just saying this, either, as ever-esteemed Australian label Future Classic has picked up on the man's works—and on the back of before-featured track and FC debut, "Don't You Mind", Jack's released another of his incredibly deft compositions in "Silk", the second "taste" from his forthcoming mixtape, Lessons, to be released on the label. With a dreamy, Nujabes-esque opening, "Silk" takes us to a wonderful sonic space, and what delicate drums come after really add to the inviting nature of the track. There's more than them present, of course; a host of instrumental nuances including a squealing violin provide atmospheric flair throughout, and because of them, the track's progressive grace is retained. We can't say we're not impressed with the effort (we are), so bet on the fact that we'll be watching for its parent project's release November 7th, and know that we hope you'll be doing the same.
