THRILLERS

Cant Get Enough

It's always fun to come across tracks that are unabashed tribute to '80s pop, but have a modern twist to keep things interesting. THRILLERS' "Can't Get Enough" is one of those songs, and it's the first release from this LA-based four piece who describe their sound as "funktronica". The band is headed up by Jeremy and Gregory Pearson, and they've already worked with some big names during the creation of their upcoming debut EP, Cotton Candy Kisses, (including Graham Marsh who produced for Gnarles Barkely and Bruno Mars, among others). "Can't Get Enough" is the first track from the aforementioned project, and it's not super imposing as many debuts happen to be. Poppy synth melodies appear and are well-balanced on the track, but the real reason we like "Can't Get Enough" is because the members have finessed so many different little textures into the overall package. There's a complexity to the chorus that separates the track from your average pop offering, and the song's introduction before it is relatively subdued, but when the vocals come in, you'll start to get an entirely different side to the song all together, and the guitar work that starts to pop up soon thereafter really seals the deal. It'll all tip you off to the fact that these guys are potential-filled, in any event, and we hope their future work will be just as good, because we smell the makings of a new favorite synth-pop band here.
