If you were to tell us (prior to seeing this post) that you knew of the South African-based musician, Thor Rixon, we would be hard-pressed to believe you, because unlike other musical hotbeds around the world, South Africa is still a treasure trove of undiscovered acts. We're going to remove the veil and serve up the highlighted track, "Misery Belle", from his newly released project, Tea Time Favourites, though, because it's absolutely awesome. "Misery Belle" is not your average run-of-the-mill song by any stretch of the imagination; it's unorthodox in its non-conforming ways, yet still has just the right amount of catch with its funky instrumentation and lovely vocal additions from the Cape Town-based Inge Beckmann. Just think of their music this way: if Portugal the Man was based in South Africa, we'd imagine this is what their music would sound like.
