Electing to take the two-tracks-in-two-days route is one of the more promising acts we’ve had the pleasure of covering on HD, New Zealand’s Thomston. You know you’re in for a bright career when you have Lorde’s management looking after you, and what we’ve seen so far from the young up-and-comer has our about-to-blow alarms going off. We’re not ones to toss out such high praise on a whim, since it certainly takes more than just a few songs to breach the digital world; but as exemplified in an impressive fashion once again, Thomston’s newest track, ”Burning Out”, showcases the singer-songwriter’s overarching talents in crafting a song that not only bolsters chart-worthy propensity, but never sacrifices its deep artistic integrity, either. Nobody likes musical acts that reach too far to appeal to the masses, and, rest assured, Thomston is not one of those acts. The guy is a natural talent, and it’s with tracks like ”Burning Out” that’s going to make this plainly apparent to the public domain. There’s no word of an upcoming project from Thomston at the moment, so for the time being, enjoy the string of releases he’s blessed upon us thus far, and hope alongside us for more to come in the not-too-distant future.
