We've had a couple birthday tracks out this week (Joni Payne released the soulful "Contemporary Love" one day ago), and, as fans of the releases these people have, we're not going to argue about the celebratory acts at all. They're ways for people to get together, and that's what birthdays—and music—are both all about. Joining Joni this week in celebration is one of our favorite electronic-pop acts out, Thomston, who has a one-off track in "brain-dead" for us to enjoy here. It's a little more R&B-driven than his other efforts, but it sounds great with what smoothness that adds in, and we're really loving, too, what driving electronic beat exists behind it all. Thomston's lyrics are coherent and deep again, as they always seem to be, and it's an absolute treat to have them matched up with what great sounds he always seems to put forth. "" is a dandy, and we certainly hope it gives Thomston some decent birthday love.
