Thief has made multiple appearances on HD throughout the past months, with a single, remixed work, and EP all posted on account of their brilliantly electronic pop sounds. Today, however, we've another effort incorporating the individual's work, and it comes by way of HD-favorite, Akouo, who takes the former's title-track from the aforementioned EP to rich electronic heights. Bleeping synths, well-integrated sampling, an impeccable buildup, and fervent unwinding throughout ensures the integrity of the Australian's interpretation, and fans of the original won't be at all disappointed with the direction that's been taken here. It's upbeat, but it doesn't sacrifice a serviceable pace for aggression, and that's what is perhaps most impressive about the effort overall. No one will be scratching their heads at any of the decisions Akouo implements, because they all work wonderfully together to create an ever-engaging body of work.
