London-stationed and world class producer DJ Oneman did something brilliant with one of the standout tracks from The xx's Coexist album. On his version of "Chained", the integrity of the original is present almost in full: the bassline is kept, the tempos match, and the verses from Romy and Oliver are right where you remember them. The number turns from indie-pop to house by way of pots and pans sounding percussion that clank on top of steady bass hits and hit hat ticks. No thrills or histrionics. Without a doubt, less is more in this case.
