Ready for some great news? Today marks the return of Snakehips, the London-based duo that got everyone talking in 2013. They appeared twice on our best remixes of 2013 list, even snagging the #1 spot, and proved alongside the accolades that they were ready for more success in the coming year. And it's safe to say from their first release from it, a fantastic remix of The Weeknd's "Wanderlust", that Snakehips is back from their eight-month lull to bring us quality tunes in full force. Warm synths, high vocals, and crisp percussion usher in the featured effort, and we've seen that strategy from Snakehips before, but out of nowhere, a quick drum roll paves the way for a tidal wave of grandiose brass and underlying, echoed vocals. This preludes the duo's signature wavy feel, and their electronic finesse picks up the track through a spectrum of synth layers, smooth bass, and the Weeknd's falsetto. And just when you think everything's too good to be true, Snakehips decides to drop a hint that "lots of new music is on the way", so dance, sing, jump, scream, and do whatever you feel is necessary to express your excitement, because this remix, and their alluded new music, is everything we like to hear.
