When rock and roll comes to mind, you may think of a bygone era of music that only exists on the radio. As trends would tell us, though, musical genres are continually reinvented, and when it comes to rock and roll Sydney-based band The Preatures, we've an example of an act that's bringing the style back to life. The Preatures' debut, "Is This How You Feel", emanated back in 2013, and the buzz from it was instant. Ever since, they've released hit after hit—further giving the world proof that the rock genre is not dead, but rather, alive, and rightly in the hands of the Australian act. When most think of rock and roll, eyes often glaze over as the sound is just not what most want to hear these days, but with the Preatures, they've managed to make it cool again. This is not an easy thing to do in a time when much more curated genres like electronic have taken over, but The Preatures are proof that if you create good music, a genre's irrelevant. With the previously released "Manic Baby", "Somebody's Talking", "Better Than It Ever Could Be", and the aforementioned "Is This How You Feel", their catchy sound has found its foothold with listeners worldwide, but with the rest of the album—specifically, with tracks like "Ordinary", "Rock and Roll Rave", "Whatever You Want", and "Cruel"—there's no doubt they've one of the best debuts of the year. Now, Blue Planet Eyes was released back on September 30th, so if you're a bit late to the party like we are, don't fret—just do yourself a favour and purchase the album ASAP. (You won't be disappointed. Trust us.) Below you can find our favourites from the album. iTunes has you covered for purchasing purposes.
