It's always a good day when The Night VI comes out with new material, and their covers, too, are top-notch, but we've been waiting for a new piece of original work from them for some time now, and so we're rather excited about the fact that we get to enjoy more of their signature sound in the form of "Heroine". The track is part of their just announced second EP, DIY, and while the rest of the project won't be released until November 17th, you'll be able to listen to this one till your heart's content. The music harkens back to the mellow temp of their first single, "Thinking Of You", and it's got a sleek, downtempo finish to it that compliments the silky vocals beautifully. The band has been steadily plugging away since their inaugural release, and they've enjoyed win after win as each track has found favor with both fans and critics alike. There aren't a ton of new names who have so quickly become known for the kind of consistency that The Night VI has espoused, and we'd be willing to wager that if they keep this up, they're going to leave a lot of their contemporaries in the dust. Their sound has always been vaguely timeless, and where other acts have tried to capture this classic feel with much less success, The Night VI has absolutely nailed the aesthetic with ease. The DIY EP will be limited to 500 copies and will be a physical release only that's sold at shows. If you're not located in the UK (where they will likely be touring for the next chunk of time) have no worries—the two other tracks from the five-track EP will be released online later this year .
