Surfacing over a year ago with a mellowed number entitled "Midnight", The Masks have been on our radar for a while now, and their latest piece, "Say Goodbye", illustrates the group's continual ability to send out high sonic quality. The London-based act is still developing a signature sound, but what's particularly noticeable within theirs is their use of chilled-out, R&B-inclined instrumentals with their excellent vocal delivery. "Say Goodbye", their latest piece, is initially dominated by the aforementioned female vocals, and those glide through such elements as vehement chords and snappy drums that we hear throughout. The group gorgeously progresses the piece, the vocals dive in at appropriate times, and the instrumental's flow acts accordingly till the very end. It'll be interesting to see what's in store for The Masks going forward, but we're positive they'll continue to impress if they head in the direction that "Say Goodbye" here indicates.
