On the rare occasions that you find yourself thinking of a Japanese house, a clean, calm aesthetic probably comes to your mind, and with this 19-year-old London-based newcomer who goes by the name of "The Japanese House", it's easy to imagine she's the same kind of mindset when it comes to the direction of her sound. "Still", her debut track, shows that there's definitely a sense of serenity in her arsenal as her use of pads and synths gives way for a kind of atmosphere teeming with nuanced romanticism and euphoria to boot. The Japanese House's debut EP, Pools to Bathe In, will be released April 23 via Dirty Hit.
